Hunt For Lost October

2311hrs: Yes I've made most of the October posts private. She hasn't found her way here yet and I'm not gonna take any chances. She doesn't need to know. But I'm just glad I got to know her.

Angel by Jon Secada

I, I can't read the future
But I still wanna hold you close
Right now, I need that from you
So give me the morning
Sharing another day with you
Is all I want to know

And baby I, I've tried to forget you
But the light of your eyes
Still shines, you shine like an angel
A spirit that won't let me go

And I, I didn't wanna tell you
Things I didn't wanna know myself
I was afraid to show
But you, you gave me a reason
A reason to face the truth, oh yes you did
To face the truth, face the truth
Face the truth

And baby I, I've tried to forget you
But the light of your eyes
Still shines, you shine like an angel
A spirit that won't let me go
Won't let me go, let go of my heart

Under Siege 3: My Blog

1941hrs: Think my blog might be under siege on two fronts. I know Bambi promised she won't search out my blog. But I found out last night just how easy it can be with the right keyword. I tried typing 'Bambi' as a keyword on technorati and my blog came up on the 5th page of the search results. So now all it takes is a little curiosity from Bambi to search my blog out. Earlier today I was thinking about removing all the entries about Bambi. Then it occurred to me that if my blog's already been compromised, removing the entries about her wouldn't do much good would it? So I guess if she knows, then she knows. Nothing much I can do about it.

So Bambi, if you've read everything, no need for things to get weird. I'm pretty much over you, even if I'm not, I'm getting there. Knowing you as a friend is good enough. I no longer hope for anything more. I hope your recent cold shoulder isn't cause of this blog. But I can't see any other reason for you to be acting this way. If you did read my blog, you broke your promise. *sigh*

Smokin' hole in the ground

2157hrs: *Fighter jet spirals towards the ground trailing smoke and flames* Ladies and gents, you'll be happy to hear my campaign for the lovely Bambi is O-V-E-R! Just learnt from her that she's gonna stay off guys who bear the namesake of her ex. And yours truly here is one of them. Well, I'm not too sure if she was serious but it sucks either way. Could I introduce myself with my second name? The one that no one uses?

God knows I really like this girl. And I'm sure God really does know. I've told him why she's so captivating(Yes, evil as I am, I still talk to him). In the end it might be for the best? I may want her but will she want me?

Kitchen Disaster

2202hrs: Remember how I tried cooking scrambled eggs for breakfast last month? Last time, the eggs didn't turn out too well. My Aunt got me a new TEFAL skillet and I tried again sometime last month. The eggs came out perfect. So I cooked the eggs a third time this morning for breakfast. Well if you ask me, the second time was better. The eggs came out slightly runny like the ones at Macs. Think I overcooked the eggs a little today although they still look great. The photo says it all...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Alright. So I cooked my breakfast and watched Nip / Tuck while enjoying the fruits of my labour. Washed up, went to a pal's house to watch Rocky III. Came home about 5 hours later and to my horror, I LEFT THE STOVE ON ALL THIS TIME!!! I think my Aunt was right. I shouldn't cook. I'm just thankful the house didn't go up in flames. Thank God I arrived home before anyone else or I'll still be hearing about it from my Aunt right now. I have no idea how I missed out turning the stove off. But I think I should stay away from the kitchen for awhile.

Things with Bambi aren't looking up recently. I haven't spoken to her much over the weekend cause she's busy trying to finish up her drama serials. This has been the longest break in our conversations since I've known her. I know I shouldn't feel this way but this break in our conversations makes me feel distant. Damn, I miss her. I know I shouldn't but I do.

I should forget her @ 2217hrs

Damn

2358hrs(28 October 2006): So I haven't spoken to Bambi since her last sms yesterday afternoon. Got an sms from her this evening thanking me for the cute postcard I sent her. Replied 30mins ago and she hasn't replied yet! I'm trying hard not to entertain this but what if she managed to see my blog and saw all the posts about her? It was never my intention for her to see this blog for a long long time or ever. She doesn't need to know about my feelings for her unless it's mutual. I'm just happy having her call me a trustworthy friend. I really do enjoy talking to her cause she cracks me up quite often.

She came online for a little while last night and I thought I'd wait for her to message. But she went offline. She popped online again today but went offline just as quickly. I know I promised to be a big boy about all this but I hope things aren't getting weird between us. I really haven't done anything weird. The only possibility is that she has read this blog. But I imagine the anonymity of this blog in cyberspace is pretty secure. Dammit! I know I might be just freaking out over nothing. I'm trying hard to ignore this whole thing. Perhaps she's just been busy, tired, sick or abducted by aliens.

Yes it's about her...

2212hrs: I'm sorry, if you're looking for me to talk about something else other than Bambi, you'll be disappointed. She's all I think about. Talked to her last night till 1am....again. I'm not complaining but my sleep did suffer. The funny thing was the fatigue didn't kick in till about 2 - 3pm today after lunch. I felt really really tired. I was dozing off in front of the com. Had to do something...ANYTHING! Got up, walked over to the filing cabinets and pretended to look for files. Just had to stretch my legs and shake off the Z monsters. Chatting with Bambi last night was enjoyable as always. Towards the end she went offline suddenly and I got a fright when my phone received an sms. My phone's alert is pretty loud. And it was Bambi. So we smsed a bit before I said goodnight to her. Wanna guess who was the first one I talked to this morning(besides people I live with)? You guessed it....BAMBI! It was nice getting her sms in the morning. She wanted to make a pact to sleep early whenever we talk. Cause the both of us can't go on like this forever. I agree, last week was pretty tough on me. I had an average of 4 - 5 hours of sleep each night and by Friday, I was half dead. I was on autopilot but the 'auto' was off as well. Imagine!

Well I've been doing something dumb the last few days. I would 'accidentally' type Bambi as Baby when I sms Bambi. Just to see her reaction. I've done it twice and both times her reactions were inconclusive. I admit it was lame alright? I'm not doing it anymore. But I do wish I could call her Baby without hiding behind a typographical error.

She's been asking to see my blog the last couple of days cause she showed me hers. I kept making up excuses. Obviously she can't see my blog with a dozen entries all with HER name in it! She threatened to search my blog out and I told her I wouldn't trust her anymore if she did that. And she backed off. Actually I knew she would back off. She's not the type to pry. That sweet thing.

So she taught me how to read the entries backdated to 2003 on her blog(sorry I really didn't see the 'backward' button). Then she comes along and tells me not to go back too far cause I'll see her fat pics. She was a little too late. Honestly, even though she was slightly chubbier during the earlier part of this year, I would've fallen for her anyway. And she wasn't even fat to begin with. I have no idea what her friends been telling her but I think she looks beautiful before and gorgeous now. There's nothing I'll change on her.

Ah yes, I saw the pics of her ex-beau. Including the lovey-dovey ones of them together. I don't know what to say but I'll admit they made a cute couple. The guy doesn't look his age at all. Then again, he is a little short. All short guys don't look their age(no offense to my friends). How do I know he's short? Well he's slightly below Bambi's height so yeah.

I spent this evening reading the first few entries Bambi ever wrote on her blog. Her entries really tickled. I had a good laugh when I read her complaints about her com malfunctioning on her. Man, if you think she's adorable now, she was puppy cute 3 years ago! I admit the furore of grammatical and spelling mistakes(intentional or otherwise) does get a tad tedious after a few entries. But it was enjoyable to read none the less. I just didn't feel a need to read her entire blog. Just her first month of entries were enough.

Seeing more of her pics just took my breath away. I can't get enough of them. I think if this continues any longer, I'll have to start dragging around my own LOX(liquid oxygen) tank. I can't get over that smile of hers. Yeah, she's got cute friends but she really is still the only one I'll take multiple glances at.

You know, I've been seeing a lot of tall girls recently that are pretty cute. Well first there's Bambi, then on yesterday's train ride home, I saw a girl who's TALLER than me. Let's face it, I'm not exactly short(though I wish I were taller). She had to be at least 1.8m! She was cute. Today I saw another girl who was about my height. She was cute too! How I wish I could date someone whom I could talk to face to face with and not have to bend over everytime we locked lips. I think it'll be pretty cool to date someone my height. But most girls in Singapore tend to stick to within 1.6m of terra firma. Only a unique few venture beyond. Enough talk about those girls...

Oh Bambi, where are you? I'm dying to chat with you again. I maybe fatigued but you're always worth the wait. Wish you'll be here now. You know, I'm glad you're not able to read my blog. My recent entries have been pretty dry without much(if any) exercise in eloquence. I feel it's been boring and monotonous. And reading Herman Melville's Moby Dick isn't helping at all.

Running from....

2150hrs: So Bambi and I were talking the other night and an Eric Clapton song came up. After listening to the song abit and having Bambi say she's gonna haunt me gave me an idea. Downloaded the lyrics to the song and took 10mins to rewrite it. I know, it's a little lame but hey, Bambi liked it. That's all that matters. So here it is....

Running from Faith by KGB

Lately I've been running from Faith
what else can a poor boy do
but my world would be wrong
if she comes after me

Lately I've been talking in my sleep
Can't imagine the nightmares I've had
said my world would be wrong
if she comes back my way

I've always been
Wanting to get away every day
seems like by now
She's found a way to track
Track me down

And I keep running from Faith
all of her dreams are coming true
And our world would be wrong
if she catches me...and you

But I've always been
Trying to get away every day
seems like by now
I can't get away
Can't get away

And I keep running from Faith
all of my nightmares are coming true
And our worlds would be wrong
if Faith catches me...and you
yes it would

Faith catches me and you
Faith catches me and you
Faith catches me and you
All of her dreams are coming true
I said Faith, Faith is gonna catch you
All of our nightmares are coming true..

Like I said, lame I know. But she liked it. That's all that matters.

Not gonna be able to get my daily Bambi 'fix' tonight. @ 2156hrs

Bambi

2047hrs: I thought about you for most of today Bambi. I wondered what you were doing, where you were and why you didn't sms me when you were looking for me last night(I had a great time smsing back and forth with you on Friday night). I imagined you walking in my direction on your way back from the compactors and having that 'oh so gorgeously cute' pout on your face. Did you know you pout when you're stressed? I do. I've seen you pout whenever you're stressed. I miss seeing you in the office. Actually, I just miss you. I miss seeing your smile, I miss hearing your voice, I miss catching a whiff of your hair when you walk past at the filing cabinets, I miss hearing you get all excited and I miss that expression you have on your face when you're curious about something. I wish you would talk to me on the phone again. But I know, not until we get to know each other better right?

Bambi, do you know why I'm so smitten by you? I love the way you have a child-like curiosity towards everything(kinda like me). I love the way you laugh so easily and so enchanting is your laughter it melts my heart everytime I hear it. I love the way you get so shy when I say you're adorable. I love the girlly ways you react to almost everything. I love the way we tease each other when we're talking. I love your playful comments on MSN when we're chatting. And I love it when you repeat words in quick succession. Like when you went "blush blush blush" the other day. I found it so adorable. And I was really amazed to find you single. A girl like you is meant to be swooned over all the time. And I found it hard to believe the careless ways your ex treated you. If you were mine, I'll only want to spoil you. Over and over again like how my friend does to his wife. And it doesn't matter because your affection makes up for it in leaps and bounds. You're so gentle, lovable and kind-hearted. How could I not want you? Your love for animals and a kind heart is just the sweetest icing on the cake.

The other day when you showed me your blog, I couldn't read beyond the first entry. B was all you talked about. You even called him darling. No my dear, I'm not angry with you or B. All's fair in love and war they say. The ironic thing is that I'm talking about you on my blog the same way you are about B on your blog. Albeit with a lot more self-control(I hope). My friends say I should continue reading your blog to forensically piece together your personality. But I choose to get the puzzles to the mystery that is you directly rather than rely on a set of random html code. I wanna know you through our conversations, I wanna know what you're like. Though I already have a pretty good idea. I wanna know your likes, dislikes. I wanna know everything about you Bambi.

I wonder if B knows if both of us are the only people you still talk to from the office. Though it doesn't really matter. I have no ill feelings towards him. I even greeted him a cheery morning today. While sorting out the files today, I thought about you. And I made up my mind. I shall stop pining over you. Not because I don't wanna like you anymore, but because I want to leave it up to fate. Even though fate has never been too kind to me in the love department, I will trust you to it. I've gotta stop stressing over you. Yes, I want you. And it's not the passing want that I usually have. You're everything I thought my dream girl to be. But I don't want to give my feelings away. I'm sure your more insightful friends would already have guessed the attention I shower on you is more than what normal friends give. I just want to be a good friend to you and maybe if fate(and God) allows, you'll share the same feelings for me eventually. If not, at least I'll find a good friend in you. I want you to come to me on your own. I don't want anything I say or do to influence your opinions about me. Sure, I'll still ask you out and I'll call you if in the near future you allow me to. But it's all just to get to know you.

Bambi, I'm wondering where you are now and if you'll be coming online. I wanna know how your day was and hear everything you gotta say. I do hope you come online before midnight because I'm planning to only wait till then. Bambi, I've enjoyed talking to you for the past week. And I hope you meant it too when you said the same.

Oh and one more thing. Bambi, I hope to God you never get to read the entries I wrote about you this month because if you did, you'll realise I'm like putty in your hands now. You'll be able to do what you will with me without much resistance(from me). I'm all slush when it comes to you Bambi

Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli

You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you

Pardon the way that I stare
There's nothing else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
But if you feel like I feel
Please let me know that it's real
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you

I love you, baby
And if it's quite alright
I need you, baby
To warm a lonely night
I love you, baby
Trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby
Don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay
And let me love you, baby
Let me love you

You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you
You'd be like Heaven to touch
I wanna hold you so much
At long last love has arrived
And I thank God I'm alive
You're just too good to be true
Can't take my eyes off you

I love you, baby
And if it's quite alright,I need you, baby
To warm a lonely night.I love you, baby
Trust in me when I say
Oh, pretty baby
Don't bring me down, I pray
Oh, pretty baby, now that I found you, stay..

Interesting October

2133hrs: Seems like this October's been pretty interesting for me. It's only the 21st and I've already chalked up 12 entries(including this). The average for the last 30 months(or so) has been about six entries per month. If I'm blogging twice as much as I usually do, then yes. This month's been really interesting(though I can't say the same bout my delivery). Fine, most if not all the posts have been about Bambi. And yes, she's gonna be mentioned in this entry as well.

If I had to pick the most interesting time of my life this year, this would be it. Ever since I started working there's been a furore of developments in my life. And I've only just completed the second week.

Things have been going so much better than I ever hoped with Bambi. We've talked every night in the past week. Which almost killed me. I've been staying up till way past 12 midnight talking to her and getting no more than 4 to 5 hours of sleep in the past week. On Thursday night the sweet little thing chased me off to bed. And to get me off the com, she went offline. But I really needed that good night's rest. My body's been protesting! But conversations with her have been so enjoyable that time just passes by without much notice from me. Oh, and I spoke to the adorable thing on Thursday. I can't describe how good it felt to hear her voice again after a cold turkey week without it. I missed the girl. Which I think is the contributing reason for me being sick the past week. Is it possible? That one can end up being sick because of a girl?

Oh, did I mention she left a nice testimonial on friendster? Yeah, she did. It seems that everything she does makes her so adorable. Even the testimonial she gave was so funny, I had to read it a few times. So now do you get why Bambi's appropriate? I've been telling myself to play it cool and not be found staring at my handphone eagerly anticipating every message from her. Like I did today. I would(more than a few times) glance at my handphone wondering when the message would come, if ever. I finally gave up and messaged her in the evening. I keep telling myself I miss her too much and for no good reason. I need to be cool about it. I don't want to be caught expecting things to happen(which may or may not). I don't want to read everything she does and gauge how she feels about me. Yes, I want her to like me. But I also want to know her before I jump headlong into another disaster waiting to happen.

Which best describes the last two relationships I've had. I spent the first not trusting the girl. The second, let's just say after two months, I couldn't wait to get away from the person. But the lack of courage had me sticking around for 6 months. I couldn't overcome the fear of being alone. But I'm glad that it's over. The time spent with that person was pretty terrible most of the time. I have never met anyone more demanding, self-fish or unappreciative. I spent a lot of money for flowers to be delivered to that person's office on V' day. The worst was she EXPECTED me to. Second was the unappreciative remarks I got in the evening. She said "who died?" when I asked if she liked the lilies I bought. She even had the cheek to demand for me to write entries about her. She demanded for the passion I had for beary. The more she asked for it, the less I wanted her in my blog. I am truly thankful it's over. I just wished I was smarter about it and took my friend's advice to break it off a lot earlier. I just hope to forget her asap. But that plan was set back a little when she smsed me outta the blue on Thursday night. I only read the message the next morning. It's been 3 months since I last talked to her and I've spent those 3 months forgetting bout my folly. I know I can forget about her completely. I succeeded with the first girl. I was so effective, that when I was asked for my first girlfriend's name, I spent 30 minutes sifting through the memory banks searching hard for the name. I honestly forgot the person existed. And it only took 2 years to forget that person. I just hope it'll happen soon with this ex. Cause when I saw the sms, I still recognised the number(yes, I deleted her number months ago from my phones). Dammit, it took awhile to remove all traces of her vile existence from my two handphones. I wished she didn't message me. Anyways enough talk about the horrible ex.

Yes, so I want to take things real slow with Bambi. I really do like her a lot. And I want things to work with her. I don't mind being good friends with her for the time being. And from the way she's been responding, I think I've still got the 'ol charm leftover from teenhood.

I have no idea why but on friendster this month, I've got 42 hits this month. It's a three fold jump compared to what I usually get. I don't use friendster much so I usually don't expect much activity there.

Bambi's online now and I very much want to initiate a conversation with her but I won't. I don't wanna be the hyper-active Jack Russell every time she's online. I'll wait. I'll be patient. I want to think with my head this time.

I'm off to distract myself from Bambi. Maybe a game of C&C Generals might help.

It's been fun this month @ 2230hrs

Freddy Fender

2233hrs: If you're the same age or younger than me, you probably wouldn't know the artiste above. He's an artiste from a very long time ago. I read in yesterday's Straits Times(Life! section) he passed away due to lung cancer last Saturday. He died at 69. The reason I think he's worth mentioning is because in 1975 he sang a song 'Before The Next Teardrop Falls' which turned out to be one of my all time favourite love songs. The lyrics are about selfless love. Which I can identify with.

I'm sorry. Having a crush on sunshine girl aka bambi is making me more in touch with my emotions than I usually am. But I'm giving up on liking her soon. I'm just happy being her good pal. Too old for crushes and gushing like a school boy.

Anyways back to Fender. His soulful tenor struck a chord with many when he sang that song. It became an instant hit then. It's gotta be pretty good if it managed to get my attention right? He was recorded saying in an interview recently, "I'm one year away from 70 and I've had a good run,". I wonder if I'll ever have the courage to say that at 69. But here's to a great artiste.

Before The Next Teardrop Falls by Freddy Fender

If he brings you happiness
Then I wish you all the best
It's your happiness that matters most of all
But if he ever breaks your heart
If the teardrops ever startI'll be there before the next teardrop falls

Si te quiere de verdad
Y te da felicidad
Te deseo lo mas bueno pa' los dos

Pero si te hace llorar
A mi me puedes hablar
Y estare contigo cuando triste estas

I'll be there any time
You need me by your side
To dry away
Every teardrop that you cried

And if he ever leaves you blue
Just remember I love you
I'll be there before the next teardrop falls
And I'll be there before the next teardrop falls

From 166/92 to 170/100....F**k!

1701hrs: That's the difference 5 hours made to my blood pressure reading. I had to accompany my Aunt to the clinic cause she wasn't feeling well. While at the clinic, the doc did a favour by taking my blood pressure even though I wasn't the patient. And she says "A young man like yourself shouldn't have such a high reading". You know if one doctor is concerned, it might be just him being cautious. If two are saying that it's worrying, then it really is a major cause for concern. The doc advised me to monitor my blood pressure closely for the next week or so. I thought I could chalk it up to fatigue cause I really am very tired. But she says fatigue probably isn't the cause of this high reading. Great! My only reason to be calm is out the window. Now I'm starting to panic about having high blood pressure. Which isn't helping one bit. I really don't wanna be sick. But the last reading I took in June or so was only 140/60. And that's within the normal range.

Please God, I'm begging you. Don't let me be sick. I don't want a permament ailment. PLEASE!

Worried @ 1706hrs

166/92.....crap

1304hrs: Just came home not long ago from my visit to the doc. Been having 'suspected' food poisoning. Don't ask me what I ate cause I really don't know. I think it maybe caused by the peppermint sweets I've been eating in the office. If I'm not mistaken, peppermint has a laxative effect if taken in large enough amounts. The food poisoning isn't the cause for concern here.

Out of habit I asked the doc to take my blood pressure. He had a concerned look on his face when he took the first reading. It was 155/80. He said it's a little too high. So he took a second reading to make sure. It went up to 166/92. He looked worried. Which got me worried. He says I need to go back for another check-up just in case. Alright, during my army stint I had high blood pressure now and then due to lack of sleep and stress(cause of the damned auditing!). I've been experiencing troubled sleep the last two nights cause of the upset stomach. I was feeling nauseous yesterday as well which forced me to leave work at 2pm. I'm hoping(fingers crossed) that the blood pressure is just a spike just like all the other times I've had isolated high BP.

There's always been a concern that I might 'inherit' my Mum's high BP & diabetes cause she was diagnosed with those things while carrying me in her womb. So she's been pretty concerned bout that. But me, being me I've been eating whatever I fancy. Been chucking steaks from that western food stall Janan introduced me every now and then. And savouring every piece of fat. Been adding butter to almost everything the last couple of weeks as well.

Think I gotta overhaul my entire diet and make a huge effort to exercise consistently. I've really been too careless with my health. I already have a myriad of medical conditions which although not serious, can get a little bothersome sometimes. I've got busted kneecaps, a slightly bad back, moderate to severe myopia, asthma and acne(sensitive skin). I don't want diabetes and hypertension to be added to that list as well. Ok, I promise no more red meat for the next 3 months. Consistent exercise and eat more fruits and vegetables.

I've kept the voracious appetite from my teens but my body's metabolism has slowed somewhat. Thus I'm getting fatter round the middle. Which I've been trying to lose but it gets a little difficult. I miss my abs now and I can't even see their outline anymore.

Hmm...maybe the blood pressure's caused by the excitement I've been having over sunshine girl? Oh and sunshine girl will from now on be known as Bambi. Will explain the change in her nick another time. For now, the meds for my diarrhoea's making me a little woozy. I really should get some rest.

*sigh* I am unworthy!

2135hrs: Wow...3 entries within 2 hours. I just got lots to say today I guess. I was just looking at sunshine girl's pics on friendster. Oh, she searched me out on friendster last night. You know how if you show a cross to a vampire and they burn / melt? If you held up a picture of sunshine girl to my face, I'll probably melt into a puddle. I think I'll probably stutter on Saturday when I see her. And when I do, her friends will probably figure it out. I can't exactly blame it on the haze can I?

Work was really mundane today and I couldn't wait for it to end. All I had in my head was sunshine girl. Seeing sunshine girl come outta the filing cabinets in my head. She's found her way to the deepest recesses of my cranium! This is bad! I know things are going well but I don't wanna hope for too much either. I am torn.

Today she and I exchanged messages. And I freaked out over nothing. I got too self-conscious. I accidentally asked her twice what time she slept last night. I was freaking out, afraid she'd think I'm weird for wanting to know what time she went to bed so badly. You see what I mean? I should be cool about this whole thing but I freaked over something as trivial as this. She sets my pulse racing and my hands clammy. No one's had that effect on me for awhile now. I'm going outta my head over her.

F****, I have this humongous crush on you and it's driving me nuts! I want to be cool about it(which I am most of the time). You're making me act so stupid. Seems as if my mind plays hide and seek when you're around. *sigh* Think I should stop thinking bout you. It's not healthy. I can't go on dreaming bout what I can't have. It'll kill me eventually.

I wanna go sleep. I'm tired, not making sense and emotional for no good reason at all. And most of all, I'm not acting my age. 22 year old(exactly 3 months to TWO-THREE) guys don't gush when they talk about someone they like. But I'm gushing like a damned schoolgirl. Schise!

Somewhere In My Broken Heart by Billy Dean

You made up your mind it was time it was over
After we had come so far. I think there's enough pieces of forgiveness
Somewhere in my broken heart

I would not have chosen the road you have taken
It has left us miles apart
I think I can still find the will to keep going
Somewhere in my broken heart

So fly. Go ahead and fly
Till you find out who you are
And I, I will keep my love unspoken
Somewhere in my broken heart

I hope that in time you will find what you long for
Love that's written in the stars
When you finally do, I think you will see
It's somewhere in my broken heart

Girl, I, I will keep my love unspoken
Somewhere in my broken heart

I hope that in time you will find what you long for
Love that's written in the stars
When you finally do, I think you will see
It's somewhere in my broken
Somewhere in my broken
Somewhere in my broken heart

People are getting weird

1954hrs: Did I go to sleep last week and find myself in an alternate dimension the next morning? Strange things been happening to me in the past week. Last Friday, I introduced myself to M and by night I find myself referred to as Mr Hunk on her blog(Alex, Leo, Dom(& J), stop it! I can see the bunch of you sniggering behind your screens!). And things are going so well with sunshine girl. I even got her number last night! I was up till 1am talking to her. We talked about everything under the sun for 3+ hours until she chased me off to bed. On Saturday while I was sunbathing this bikini clad girl who was in the pool near to where I was, kept staring at me. I had my sunglasses on and she probably didn't know tha I she was staring. And I started getting self-conscious and thought she must've been staring at my enormous gut. But I was lying on my tummy! I shrugged that off.

Then on my way down the stairs to my house, I saw my neighbour. Alright let me tell you bout this neighbour. You would never tell that she has a daughter my age if you ever saw her. I bet 20 years ago she set fire to the loins of many men whenever she walked past(she probably still does to the mature crowd). And I always feel so odd calling her 'Auntie' everytime we meet like I should be calling 'jie jie' instead. Anyways I called out to her and we conversed for awhile in my broken mandarin. And she exclaims in subdued excitement. "Wah!, hen jiu mei you jian dao ni,ni zhang de hen shuai le hor?"(forgive the hanyu pin yin. Anyways translated it says, "Wow, I haven't seen you in awhile. Boy have you grown better-looking since"). I just gave her the 'huh?' look and she says 'Really!'.

And she goes on asking if I've done anything different recently to my acne scars cause according to her, they've healed up very nicely. And she's seen me during my teens when the acne was in full bloom!

What's going on here? Am I not supposed to be the awkward teen whom girls never bothered to give a second glance? I don't understand all this attention I've been getting recently. And during my conversation with sunshine girl, she tells me I look good. Especially in a pair of jeans and a shirt. I'm left 'huhing' again. She even asked if I've lost weight(Dom! Quit sniggering!) recently. Cause she says I look a little more plump in the pictures on friendster. She says I look a lot slimmer now. Of course she hasn't seen the enormous gut residing below the nice shirt! I'm left 'huhing' again.

I've had a long tough battle with my acne since I was 13. Both with the nicknames people used to call me and with the embarrassment of pimples popping after some rough-housing with the guys. The acne came on very suddenly. At the beginning of my 13th year, I had baby smooth skin for a face. But by X'mas, it was dotted with so much acne you would've been hardpressed to find a patch of clear skin. The acne never went away until recent years. But in the battle with acne, there's no clear winners or losers. I have the scars to remind me what I've gone through and the occasional pimple still pops up. The acne was inevitable cause it's in the genes. My Uncles got it a lot worse than I. The funny thing was it skipped my Dad completely but both my bro and I bore the brunt of it. It was worse for me though. I do hope this thing will skip another generation. I wouldn't want my boy(if I have kids, God forbid) to ever go through what I had to. The shying away, the crying and endless nights of asking 'Why me?'. Thus I'm not too bothered by the scars that remain. I'm just thankful the worst of it is over. It's healing time.

Is all this someone's cruel alternate dimension joke(think Sliders)?

Still 'huhing' @ 2030hrs

Stoney & Hazey

1928hrs: That's my Monday for you. I was up till 1am last night chatting with sunshine girl on MSN. Yeah it was fun. Oh did I mention I got her number too? Which isn't a very good thing. Confused? No worries I'll elaborate in awhile. But first....

YOU FUCKING LAZY, DUMB, CORRUPT GAHMEN OF INDONESIA! You've had TEN fucking years to clean up this damned haze! But you fuckers never did anything about it did you? You've had your fucking filthy thumbs up your fucking assholes all this time huh? My apologies. What could a person expect from a country who's president's name sounds like a bad '60s 'cha cha' hit. It's not like you've had to deal with the haze alone. Singapore's been quietly shifting half a dozen satellite pics to you every month for the last few years that clearly identifies the hotspots. Not only that, an Asian commitee has been set up to deal with this TRANS-BOUNDARY annoyance but still we have to put up with your dust, soot and sulphur dioxide annually. And you know what pisses me off the most? That you fucking choose this time to slash and burn cause the winds would carry all that muck away from your own territories. YOU MOTHERFUCKERS! I hope you all choke to death in all that shit!

If you're wondering why I'm so pissed(you have to be dumb not to know, which you probably are), while walking towards Chinatown MRT after work, I was finding it hard to catch my breath. The buildings not more than 50 metres away were covered in all your muck! Now I've gotta hide in my air-conditioned room because of you fuckers!

Oh that's not all. I had to spend my weekend indoors cause of this shit. Wanted to go cycling on Saturday but went suntanning by the pool instead but the sun was obscured behind all this shit! Wanted to bring the bro's Jack Russell down to the park on Sunday but again your shit put me off.

I know what you people need. You don't need our C-130 Hercules for cloud seeding. What you need is a pair of F-16s armed with mini-nukes launched on a deep strike mission. And throw the nukes right through your fucking windows and have you all burn in hell!

Thanks! I promised not to curse like this after I leave the army and I've been keeping to it up till now. Today and the weekend just passed is unforgivable!

Can you spell D-R-A-M-A?

1003hrs: Alright I've gotta blog this down real quick!

I never knew my life was so filled with drama till last night. I was talking to sunshine girl last night and she asked the strange question, 'Did you shake hands with M at the lift yesterday?'. And I replied yes. Then she passes me the links to M's blogs. Before I could finish the first paragraph I was blushing already. And I couldn't help myself laughing out loud like a lunatic. M is sunshine girl's friend from school. And M apparently has a crush on me *blush*. You know what's the best & worst thing? Sunshine girl with whom I'm having a crazy crush on has a crush on this guy in the office who's married with kids. Even though she's not attached, this is a minor road bump though I'm not too concerned. The guy's married!

Is it me or is this starting to look like a teenage drama akin to 'One Tree Hill'? I like sunshine girl and she likes married guy and her friend M likes me(see, Love Triangle). Yep, sounds like the lost script for 'One Tree Hill'. You know what? M's been pretty annoyed that every guy she liked in the office hovered over to sunshine girl first(naturally). So she can't know that sunshine girl and I've been talking. But you know what? I do like sunshine girl! I'm liking her more as I find out more. It's bad but 'all's fair in love and war' they say.

I don't know how my life became drama materiel overnight but it's been interesting. Good news is I've been talking to sunshine girl often enough. In fact I've got a date with the girls(sunshine girl & M) next weekend to catch Talladega Nights. Time to turn up the charm a few notches. *grin*

Now I've gotta go bath, change and take 5 minutes to stare at myself in the mirror then rush out to meet the guys at 1130hrs for lunch! AHHhhhhh!

You're Beautiful...you really are

2300hrs: Well I've spent the last day with sunshine girl and I'm wishing the work day was longer. Time, I needed more time. I talked quite abit with her today. Confirmed her msn address, in fact I just got off talking to her. She's off watching some show right now. I'm just trying to finish blogging before she comes back.

Did I mention she looked especially stunning today? I didn't get much work done today. All my thoughts were centred on her. In fact I kept finding myself hovering to where she was. Keeping her company while she files away. Staying long enough to leave an impression but short enough not to be a nuisance. Things were excellent. I even managed to ask if she wanted to take the train home together and she said YES! Alas, it was not to be. When we knocked off she was caught up in the filing room in the back snapping photos with the guys there. I went ahead first thinking I'll see her on the shuttle bus but she didn't get on. I was really bummed out on the bus, searched through my iPod for the saddest songs I could find(I find solace in sad songs, yes melodramatic I know). Tried to salvage the situation by getting her best friend's MSN in case hers didn't work. But that went up in smoke when I couldn't catch up with the friend after she crossed the street.

I was really desperate now. The trip home with her was suppose to give me an opportunity to ask for her number. So I decided to stick around and wait for the second shuttle bus to arrive at Somerset MRT. I picked a good vantage point so I'll be able to see her get off the bus(and feeling really stalkerish while at it). The plan was to see her get off the bus, quickly rush down to the station and 'coincidentally' bump into her and bring the original plan back on track. Yes, I know it's a really lame way to create an opportunity. But this really was my last chance. So the bus came and I don't see her getting off. I am beyond bummed. I drag my ass down to the station and back home feeling as if I've just lost World War III all on my own. Hoping and praying the damned MSN works. I was planning on going cycling tonight to blow it all off and just forget about her. I wanted to blog this entry out before leaving but guess who came online? Yes! This entry was delayed 2 hours but at least I got to talk to her. Found out she shares a soft spot for doggies as I. Showed her a pic of my Bear Bear and had her swooning over him. God knows I miss that silly dog. He's always been a babe magnet. But more importantly I loved him cause he was my bestest pal.

In case you've forgotten about Bear, my lovely Bear Bear

But anyways talked to her somemore. Asked the indirect(and lame) question bout why she isn't out with her boyfriend on a Friday night. And to hear what I wanted to hear. She isn't attached! Yay! *throws confetti and fires cannons* I'm not saying I have a chance. I'm just saying at least there's a glimmer of hope.

Anyways I got a tentative date with her. I'm suppose to bring doggies to Bishan park so she can play with them. I'm just creating opportunities here. I really wished I joined the company just two weeks earlier. Things would've definitely be less stressful and I'll be a lot smoother. But I'm just glad there's a second chance here.

You know this was suppose to be a sad entry? I was suppose to talk about how the day really fouled up at the end. I know, I could've just waited for her to finish the photo-taking but I thought it'd be weird. I mean I don't want the office people talking. Victor says I really should've waited. Actually I think so too but still I think it'd be weird. This entry has taken a monotonous turn I know. That's only cause I'm talking to her right now and I'm split.

So I'll leave you with James Blunt. I think this song was written for the occasion.

You're Beautiful by James Blunt

My life is brilliant

*Musical Pause*

My life is brilliant
My love is pure
I saw an angel
Of that I'm sure
She smiled at me on the subway
She was with another man
But I won't lose no sleep on that
Cause I've got a plan

Chorus
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're beautiful, it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
Cause I'll never be with you

Yeah, she caught my eye
As I walked on by
She could see from my face that I was
fucking high
And I don't think that I'll see her again
But we shared a moment that will last till the end

Chorus
You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're beautiful it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
I will never be with you

(La-la-la-la, La-la-la-la, La-la-la-la, Laaah)

You're beautiful
You're beautiful
You're beautiful, it's true
There must be an angel with a smile on her face
When she thought up that I should be with you
But it's time to face the truth

I will never be with you

She's so beautiful @ 2357hrs

Summer Romance

2110hrs: Have you ever met someone who instantly sets off a particular song in your head? Yes, just like in the movies. It happened to me on Monday when I reported for my first day of work. Neil Sedaka's 'Laughter In The Rain' instantly hit me when I saw her. Along with a music video of a young couple enjoying a summer's day, chasing each other along green meadows with sunflowers aplenty. Sweet innocent love.

Everything stopped or went into instant slow-mo when I saw her. She's got such a cute smile, such a friendly persona and no matter what kinda day you're having, she'll light it up.

I'm so amused with myself. I'm acting like a little schoolboy who's having a little schoolboy crush. I just never thought I was still capable of innocent crushes. But she made it happen. Sneaking peeks at her over the cubicle. Noticing her walk past out of the corner of my eye. Watching her go about her work. And giggling on the inside.

I haven't had crushes since a lifetime ago. Fine, it's only been 5 years but it feels a lifetime ago. You know this crush helped me recall the good times I had with my crush a long time ago. I remember how I used to rush home from school just to get on the phone with Ada. Or how I'll always be waiting for her page(those were the pager days) which sometimes came with alpha-numeric messages attached. It was nice listening to her laugh at my jokes, or hearing how her day was, complaining about how bitchy her classmate was. It gave me an interesting insight on the typical day of a convent girl. It was funny listening to how her classmates did funny things to each other after P.E. classes(go figure). We talked pretty much everyday. If not for a few hours at least 15mins. The line between friends and more than friends were always blurred. And I spent 2-3 years genuinely trying to win her heart. Even though things ended badly between her and I, my lasting memory of her will always be of that Saturday / Sunday evening after mass. When she practically ran to me looking pretty in her pink top and jeans, giving me a big hug and telling me how much she missed me in front of all my friends. It was as good as a 16 year old could expect from a girl he's had a crush on forever. At the time we haven't talked for 2 weeks cause she went off on a holiday somewhere. That's the only image I keep of her and it's the only image I have of her(in my memory) considering I destroyed all her letters and pictures when things went south.

Here I am having a silly adolescent schoolboy crush again. I spent Monday and Tuesday admiring her from a distance wondering when I'll be able to introduce myself and actually put a name to this pretty lass. And on Wednesday morning, I found out she was leaving by end of the week. It really soured my morning. But a little while later I met her behind the filing cabinets and finally got a chance to introduce myself and get her name. Found out her age, which was surprising cause I thought she was my age. Oh no no, she doesn't look old or anything. It's just her height(which I like). She's 1.68m, which in my opinion is a good height for a girl. Well she's 4 years my junior(I could never tell) but it explains why I like her so much. She's just impossibly adorable. She really really is! Oh my god I'm talking like a schoolboy now. But anyways she invited me to lunch with her(along with colleagues, not alone, I only wish it were). Got to know more about her and there were just more to like. I admit it was really tough getting her to talk. My mind was on overdrive. And at the same time I was tired from sorting out the damned files all morning. And well, she's pretty boring(pretty being the operative here). I'm not blaming her, I just blame myself for not being able to keep the conversation going. I know that to keep a girl talking, you get her to talk about the stuff she likes to do. So I asked the question, "So what do you do for fun?". And she says, "Nothing, I just slack". I'm stumped. Although on hindsight I could've probably asked her what dramas she might like. *double sigh*

My boss knows about my silly crush. He's a really cool New Yorker and he puts me at ease. And he's been really patient and encouraging. Says I'm doing a good job and all. Anyways this morning I was standing over his desk to let him go over some stuff. His desk is just across from her. And he catches me sneaking glances at her. He just grins and says "Aye aye, I know what you're doing". What else could I do but to give that silly grin people give when they're busted. And he continues, "So you got her number yet? Better work fast, she's leaving on Friday". And I say I've got her MSN. Which doesn't work by the way! I was hoping to know her better in these last two days before she leaves. But it DOESN'T WORK!

Tomorrow's the last day I get to see her as she goes about her work. And the last time I get to see her 'oh so impossibly cute' pout when she's stressed. *sigh* I know, I'm acting like a schoolboy. Well that's what crushes do to you. And my adolescent crushes have taught me to just enjoy this shot of euphoria while it lasts. Crushes are meant to be enjoyed, it's an emotion you just let loose because it'll burn itself out pretty quickly. Like magnesium, it burns brilliantly if only for a few seconds.

In the last few days I've identified the 5 stages of a crush....

First comes euphoria. It just hits you like a tsunami wave when you see the person for the first time. And you spend most of this stage wondering what can be.

Second stage, strategy. You start identifying an opening to introduce yourself.

Third, rationality. Now you're quantifying your chances of hitting it off with her. You start telling yourself it's impossible a nice girl like this isn't attached yet. And you're like 1,304, 856, 654th in line vying for her attention

Fourth, despair. You're wondering when you'll be able to get a chance to really know her. This is indicative that things AREN'T going well. Basically, you're desperate(flopping about like a fish out of water).

Fifth, acceptance. You come to terms that there's a good man out there for her. You're just not the one. It's time to give up. And hope against hope the lucky bastard treats her well.

If you can't tell, I'm at the last stage. I'm getting off this tidal wave.

And here's a message to her even though I know she'll probably never see it....

F****(you've got a lovely name), it was really nice getting to know you this week. Though I wish there was more time. I didn't even get your name till yesterday. But thanks, I really enjoyed this crush I have on you. Don't worry, I'm a big boy about it. And I'm sure you've brought the Uncles in our office much joy with your company as well. Goodluck with your studies and I hope you really make it into advertising.

You've really made an old warhorse feel like a young wild stallion again. *smile*

Laughter In The Rain by Neil Sedaka

Strolling along country roads with my baby
It starts to rain, it begins to pour
Without an umbrella were soaked to the skin
I feel a shiver run up my spine
I feel the warmth of her hand in mine

Oo, I hear laughter in the rain
Walking hand in hand with the one I love
Oo, how I love the rainy days
And the happy way I feel inside

After a while we run under a tree
I turn to her and she kisses me
There with the beat of the rain on the leaves
Softly she breathes and I close my eyes
Sharing our love under stormy skies

Oo, I hear laughter in the rain
Walking hand in hand with the one I love
Oo, how I love the rainy days
And the happy way I feel inside
I feel the warmth of her hand in mine

Oo, I hear laughter in the rain
Walking hand in hand with the one I love
Oo, how I love the rainy days
And the happy way I feel inside
Oo, I hear laughter in the rain
Walking hand in hand with the one I love
Oo, how I love the rainy days
And the happy way I feel inside

Top Ten Reasons That A Motorcycle Is Better Than A Woman

2152hrs: I'm gonna begin riding lessons soon and thought this was appropriate. Heh.

10. A motorcycle's curves never sag.

9. You can ride your motorcycle on any day of the month.

8. Your motorcycle will never whine unless something is REALLY wrong.

7. You can kick your motorcycle to wake it up.

6. You can share your motorcycle with your friends.

5. If your motorcycle is too loose you can tighten it up without plastic surgery.

4. If you say things to your motorcycle you don't have to apologize before you can ride it again.

3. Your motorcycle won't insult you if you are a bad rider.

2. You don't have to take a shower before you ride your motorcycle.

And the number one reason that a motorcycle is better than a woman....

If you get a new motorcycle, you don't have to keep sending money to the old one.

Hope that was funny...well I thought it was anyway.

I've gotta go. It wasn't a long day at work(yes I'm working) nor was it a hard day at work. I just had broken sleep last night due to my overactive bladder. My head's getting woozy. Will talk more about my work and how distracted I am at work real soon. Hopefully, tomorrow!

Indonesian Bastards!

2040hrs: Yes, my title might be offensive but I don't fucking care! The Pollution Standard Index is now at 143! Whatever niceties I had for my fellow man is dead. I'm choking, my throat is hurting, my eyes are irritated and all I can smell is the acrid smoke in the air. This week has been one for respiratory failure. The week started with my nasal passages being assaulted by paint fumes from the unnecessary painting going on in my block. The cretin(or cretins) in charge of my constituency(it changes so often, I can't be bothered to keep up) has decided to repaint the surrounding apartments in pink and purple. There was nothing wrong with the previous paint scheme! My block was just painted not too long ago! But the homosexual in charge of this area(after a night of vigorous ass-poking I'm sure) decided to gay up this entire estate! So on Wednesday while hanging out in my room, the workers came around to paint the outside of my window. The fumes were so strong it literally knocked me out. I barely managed to drag myself to my Aunt's room before I collapsed on the bed due to nausea. The last time I had to endure paint fumes was when my house got repainted. It got so bad I developed a fever.

On Thursday I started noticing the haze coming down in my area. It is now so bad that looking at people running on the jogging track 50 metres away reminds one of lost souls in a graveyard. I was in town this morning and I was hard pressed to find the skyscrapers usually visible on a clear day behind the muck that has come down upon the entire island.

I am currently left wondering why the governments of Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia haven't embarked on a joint Nuclear programme against Indonesia. At least make an appeal to the international nuclear fraternity for some surplus ICBMs. Personally I prefer consolidating all available nuclear arms and launch them all at once to saturate Indonesia and make that country disappear overnight. Sure, we'll live with nuclear fall out for a couple of years but at least it's a permanent solution to all this haze. If it were up to me, the nuclear strike would start with the Indonesian government building in Jakarta and quickly followed by the rest of it's god forsaken land. Then have an armada of bombers loaded with napalm carpet bomb the entire nation for good measure. Making sure that everything that can be burned IS BURNED!

No, I am not a racist. I don't hate people who originate from that country. I am just extremely peeved that another country's problems is affecting MY LIFE. Honestly, what sort of government do you have when your domestic problems are extending beyond your borders? I am sure the slash and burn methods being used there can be stamped out if the government bothered. But those fuckwits they have for a government are too corrupt, stupid and lazy to get up and do something about it. Thus they deserve nothing more than an ICBM shoved up their lard filled asses.

Sure, you can jolly well send your Sukhois against me. But they probably wouldn't even make it 100 miles near our airspace. Provided they even get off the ground without crashing. How dare you hate me when your incompetence is causing inconvenience to me?

I am now coughing, my skin is dry and so are my eyes. If my asthma comes back, I'm gonna sue your friggin asses!

I am very pissed and very uncomfortable *cough cough* @ 2126hrs
